This is a 94 Ford Explorer 4 Wheel Drive and I’m changing the brake pads and one rotor. I know how to change the pads but I do not know how the rotor comes away from the hub.

I have broke 2 T-40 bits trying to remove the bolts to get the rotors off. Any suggestions on what to use to loosen the bolts or do they have left handed threads?

I have changed rotors before but once your remove the brake caliper on a ‘97 Civic, the rotor is still held in place by what appears to be part of the hub.
I know that normally you remove the brake calipers and then simply slide the rotor off the studs. But this ‘97 Civic isn’t designed [...]

I have a 2003 Ford Expedition, so it’s 6 years old with 115,000 miles. I have bought new brake rotors and pads, and am wondering if I should replace the brake lines while I’m at it even though they still work fine? I’m thinking I should since the 6 year old rubber lines are probably [...]

Does anyone know the minimum allowable thickness of a 1997 Ford escort brake rotor? I work at a chevy dealership and can cut them myself, but I cannot find out the service information for ford vehicles.

i have a 1996 ford contour and the brake pads and rotors need to be replaced in order to pass inspection….is it an easy job to do yourself? i once owned a 91 accord and couldnt replace the rotors becuase u needed a hydrolic tool to get the rotors off….hopefully it will be simpler on [...]

I am looking for a Ford F150 P/U brake rotor made in USA.

My friend recently replaced the rotors and the brake pads on his 1997 Ford Expedition, but immediately afterwards when he was driving the car around, there was a grinding noise when he applied the brakes coming to a complete stop. That is the only time he could hear the noise, otherwise the car would be [...]

I just went for my NY inspection. They wanted to charge me $ 600.00 to change my brake and rotors. I drive a 2003 ford explorer. Does that seem about right?

How would you fix something like this? The rotors keep getting glazed and it feels like they are warped but they are not. I keep going though new rotors but the pads keep lasting. Around ever 15,000 miles the rotors start getting glazed and it gets uncomfortable at around 50,000 miles.

Nope.
Just rusted on.
Bang on them.

Wheel puller? sledge hammer?

I need to know that too

ford 2005 f150 reg cab 2wd front rotors

if you got to ask, you better take it to a mechanic

WHAT??
Sorry. I am amazed you have a Taurus that is in running condition. I owned a ‘94 Toreass, so I know all about them.
Rotor and pads replaced by a shop, probably clip you for $250.

I am told by a mechanic at Just Brakes that my 2007 ford F150 has the kind of rotors that has to be turned while they are still mounted on the truck and that would take a special machine and their machine was down at that time. He suggested that because the hub and [...]

on a new set of rotors. How much will this cost and why won’t he just machine them like I’ve asked?
Other info: The car is a 1998 Honda Civic and I’m getting the work done at a Canadian Tire repair centre. A used car inspection was done by Honda and they suggested the front brake [...]
