All 2001 Focus models irregardless of trim level or tire size have a recommended inflation pressure of 32 psi front and 32 psi rear.
When you open the drivers door you should see either on in the inside door frame near the latch or on the door itself the Vehicle Information Tag which lists among other things the tire size for your car and recommended inflation pressures. This tag is always there unless the vehicle has been repainted.

look at the side of the tire.if it says max pressure is 44lbs set the air at 40lbs-if it says 35lbs set at 32lbs.

You have to look at your tires. They will say max PSI XX which means don’t put in that much air.
